Overview

Sworn ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal goal accountability app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

When you use Sworn, we collect the following:

Apple User ID — A unique identifier provided by Sign in with Apple, used to authenticate your account.
Email address — Optionally provided through Sign in with Apple (you may choose to hide it). Used solely for account identification.
Device token — Used to send you push notifications for midpoint check-in prompts.
Goal metadata — Goal titles, end dates, and prompt schedules are stored on our server to enable the commitment flow.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Videos — All commitment, midpoint, and reflection videos are encrypted on your device and stored in your personal iCloud account via CloudKit. We never have access to your video content.
Encryption keys — Video encryption keys are stored in your iCloud Keychain. We do not have access to them.
Location data — We do not collect or access your location.
Contacts, photos, or browsing data — We do not access any of these.

How We Use Your Data

To authenticate you and maintain your session.
To send push notifications for midpoint check-in prompts.
To manage goal timelines and unlock schedules.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Apple (Sign in with Apple, CloudKit, APNs) — Authentication, encrypted video storage, and push notifications.
Supabase — Database hosting for goal metadata and user accounts.
Fly.io — Backend hosting.

No analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or data brokers are used.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as you use the app. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request access to the data we hold about you.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via iOS Settings.

Children's Privacy

Sworn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
